Pietro Zennaro
Born 1950 near Venice, Italy
Lives & works near Verona, Italy
PZ studied electronics (Bac), architecture (MS) and philosophy, aesthetics (postgrad).
Previously teacher of drawing and history of art in public schools; then University professor of Design and Architecture at Venice IUAV University; Principal Investigator in colour & light in art and in the built environment. Co-founder of the Faculty of Industrial Design of the IUAV University.
He got the artistic imprinting from a photographer and painter: Eugenio Pianta (1890-1979).
Pietro is one of the electronic art forerunners and author of computer and digital art, drawings, paintings, photographs, installations, jewellery and other artistic expressions.
Having experienced the op art from Manfredo Massironi (N group) he prefer to stimulate the perceiver with disturbing elements, sometimes strongly evident or hidden.
In the same time he works on the representation of our contemporary times that need a complex approach. He believe that in our life exception is the rule convinced that “Art is made to disturb” (G. Braque).
Pietro Zennaro: elettronico, architetto (IUAV Venezia) e filosofo (estetica – Università di Padova). Lavora per 10 anni presso una nota azienda di computer; è abilitato ad insegnare disegno e storia dell’arte alle superiori, quindi intraprende la carriera universitaria (ricercatore, prof. Associato, prof. Ordinario) presso l’Università Iuav di Venezia dove dirige studi e ricerche sul colore e la luce nell’ambiente costruito e nell’arte.
Riceve l’imprinting artistico in giovane età da Eugenio Piazza (1890-1979, cit. da Italo Zannier). Neolaureato frequenta l’atelier di Manfredo Massironi (Gruppo N).
È uno degli antesignani della computer art, pur amando l’arte del disegnare e dipingere a mano.
Partecipa ad alcune mostre collettive d’arte negli anni ’70 e ’80 fino al 1985, quando è ammesso in collettiva alla Terza mostra di architettura della Biennale di Venezia. Riprende ad esporre nel 2021 (Londra).
È profondamente convinto che l’arte sia tale solo quando rappresenta la contemporaneità. Comunicare l’oggi con i linguaggi artistici è una sfida rivolta a se stessi ed alla collettività.
